Email me at  BORGRUS46@gmail.com   I have no answers -- only questions.  How bout you?

This site is maintained as a warning to all states wishing for "creative science" to be taught along side evolutionary science.  If need be, I will petition the state legislature for my brand of  intelligent design to be inserted along with their "grand design" and evolution.  KANSAS .. are you listening??  Grand design should be taught somewhere other than a science class because it does not adhere to the scientific method basic to all science.  Science is fluid and competitive and only lasts until a better theory bubbles up to explain observations.  We do not address the grand designer question because our GOD-THOUGHT (GAIA) is not any more scientifically provable than your GOD. That's why they call it "faith", not science. We don't mind your Sunday worship of GOD, just keep it out of the Science classroom and "WATCH THE SHEPPARDS OF THE FLOCK".  Don't drink any strange Kool-Aid because your Sheppard says so.

2.  Are we at the top of the evolutionary hill?  Have we gotten so smart we finally see the "other side" and it is down hill.  Much like "Flowers for Algernon", are we the dumb janitor who takes a smart pill and gets smart enough to predict his own downfall (the pill's effects are temporary and he will return from being a professor to being a retarded janitor again) ... In case you are wondering, the original short story version of "Flowers for Algernon" was read by a young boy in 10th grade and stimulated his love for science.  He eventually became a medical technologist.

3. Are we an evolutionary ball that continues to roll up hill only to be thrown back (again -- Sisyphus revisited)

4. Can organisms 1/1000th the size of a pencil dot have collective thought -- do they rely on us for collective thought much like we rely on our computers for mass storage.  We already know they can share ideas of survival (antibiotic resistance transferred between species), are they a repository for other information to be transferred back to the sea to some unknown  [GAIA] being?

5.   Are bacteria a part of us as symbionts or a more integral part (remember the Vitamin K kill switch) and we are a part of something bigger GAIA (the goddess of the earth)?

6. Did we come from somewhere else? [panspermia]   If so, where did that stuff come from?

7.The Microbiologists claim the Cyanobacter are our creators. The Virologists claim in the March 2006 Discover Magazine that Mimi Virus's are our creators.  And not to be outdone by those of the "visable" world,  the Astrophysicists claim that neutrinos are the star dust we are all made of.  It took the Astrophysicists 40 years to decide that neutrinos had mass so we won't hold our breath waiting for further revelations. Are we better off describing GOD as a moment of unselfish love  instead of giving "mass"  to GOD which anthropomorphizes GOD and of course, my GOD is the true GOD and we must war against all the others who believe differently (crusades, jihad, Salem witch trials). Omega (GOD) moments (the cat leading the blind dog around, the soldier throwing himself on a grenade to protect his buddies) are verbs that elevate GOD above all this petty squabbling about my GOD  and your GOD.  Does all the good that Catholics do (don't think of breeding like a bunch of flies here) count as GOD moments since the Catholics believe they will be rewarded for their deeds or is it a GOD moment anyway?

8.  And a related question to #7, have we evolved enough over our "survival of the fastest mode" to not need "organized religion" or are we still just "little people" who need to be inspired, cajoled,  threatened and taken advantage of by  "David Koresh, Jimmy Swaggert, Jim Jones, Jim Baker, and others who offer a little "heavens gate" for a price?  Would Father Flannigan have founded Boys Town just because it was the right thing to do or was he divinely inspired by his Catholic teachings?   Should we keep religion for the "little people" so the rest of us can have more worldly goods and not have to worry about the peasants rebelling. I think they are on to that "Let them eat cake" stuff, but heavenly streets of gold and 70 virgins still seem to be working.

9.  If life is just shit happening, why would anyone do something stupid like devoting their lifetime (okay, a lot of them were slaves) to building pyramids for man-gods?  If life is just "shit happening", why am I [a skeptical atheist] inspired by the music of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir or a symphony playing Mozart?  Why is this shit happening to me? Inquiring minds want to know .. got any answers?

10. Indifference -- can we rise above it without religion?  Is religion the poor peoples pacifier or the rich peoples conscience -- or both?  By NOT rioting in the streets over the latest multimillion dollar CEO salary, are we not creating our own man-gods? Paying a baseball star millions while a teacher makes $30,000 seems a little out of balance -- or is it just supply and demand?   If you chose "We can live without religion", why are we getting more morally bankrupt (clerks robbing the county courthouse, CEO's who have everything stealing more -- even worse than ENRON is Wall-Mart's vice chairman, Tom Coughlin caught stealing from Wall-Mart.  This is the company that has specialists to help you file for welfare when you hire on (if you are a "little people").  While Wall-Mart supplies NO health care for it's workers for the first three years, the big boys like Coughlin are getting $3.09 million in bonuses.   Can there be anything lower than a CEO-type of Wall-Mart wanting even more.  At least ENRON paid it's employees a good wage.  YOU CAN'T GET MUCH MORE MORALLY BANKRUPT THAN A WALL-MART VICE CHAIRMAN STEALING FROM ALL THOSE "LITTLE PEOPLE" TO PAY FOR A PRIVATE HUNTING LEASE.

Okay, maybe a Priest bending the young boy over the alter and proclaiming "prepare to meet thy rod and thy staff" is worse but not by much.  Can people be moral without the threat of religion hanging over their heads?  It seems like we are not ready for that utopian world of Star Trek where every one is important to the mission and everyone is valued.

SIGH -- with a little birth control, maybe next century.
